Whale SENSE is a voluntary recognition program offered to commercial whale and dolphin watching companies like us that practice responsible ecotourism. We follow a specific set of criteria to ensure that we keep whales safe while providing a meaningful and educational whale watching experience.
Whale SENSE operators commit to:
When you choose a SENSE-ible tour, you are promoting whale conservation by watching them without disturbing them. Our responsible whale watching guidelines also comply with Marine mammal protections. These protections require us to not approach whales at more than 100 feet, to not place engines in neutral if whales are within 100 feet and to stay at least 150 feet from dolphins and seals.
Regulations also prohibit vessels, drones and planes from approaching North Atlantic right whales within 500 yards. Learn more about responsible whale watching and our voluntary recognition program by reaching out to us today.
